It is made from a massive block of African Mahogany that is laminated in true butcher block style where the end grain is facing out which creates a subtle and visually inviting mosaic pattern. It's a demanding and labor intensive piece to sculpt due to the hardness of the end grain. The sculpting begins with chainsaws and disc grinders and is finished off with miniature die
