Designed by the LMS, British Railways continued construction of the Portholes after Nationalisation and several examples remained in service long enough to receive BR Blue & Grey livery which is offered on the Branchline model for the first time alongside a further Second Corridor (39 452A) and a Brake Second Corridor vehicle (39 462).
