Open P07873-P00123 end-grain white oakThis bronze sculpture was cast using a modified lost wax process called ice casting. This work celebrates the opening of our hearts to give and receive love and the flower opening above it accents this premise. The patina is a mixture of ferric nitrate applied hot and contemporary metal stains applied cold. The base is walnut which is stained a cherry red to match the heart.
